Yesterday, something strange happened. After lunch, I got on facebook to see that I had a message from somebody who I'd never met or heard of. The message was simply entitled "The Bible" and was focused (sort of) on my notes regarding religion and atheism (most which are old and I'm pretty self conscious about).
This man was absolutely strange. Christian or not, this is almost scary. We messaged back and forth twice, and after his third message he blocked me from responding. Now, my replies aren't anything to dance about but honestly I was flustered with the complete insanity in his walls of text. Here's the whole dialogue:

I read your things about God and the Bible. Does God really exist? Is the Bible really the Word of God? Does science prove that God does not exist? More and more science proves that God does exist. Every year scientists and other knowledgeable people find more and more evidence proving that the Bible is real and that God does exist. What was said in the Bible about end times is proving the Bible being correct. The bible was just not written a few years ago. The Bible was written over a long period of time by many different people.
What you said about it being a religion. Many people make it a religion, but it is not a religion. It is ment to be a relationship. People should be devoted to showing others that they are living fully for God. As the Bible says in Luke 10:27, " Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself."
Man is born of a sin nature because of the fall of Adam and Eve as told in Genesis chapter 2. No Christian can be a "perfect" Christian.

Thanks for your response, but quite frankly I must disagree.
I don't believe that the Bible is true- it's passages have no affect on me what so ever. You said it yourself: the Bible was written by people.
However, I do believe that the Bible is real- I have seen many times. I have seen what it does. I have seen the corruption, hatred, and ignorance that it perpetuates throughout the world among the mass of people. Honestly I'm not impressed.
I have spoken with many people who share the "relationship" mentality that you have. I respect your beliefs, and I am glad that they make you happy, however I don't believe in God. I don't seek a relationship with any supernatural being. It's all schizophrenia to me.
The biggest position on which we differ is that I do not believe that mankind is born sinful or damned. I see hope in humanity. I believe in humanity. I feel that people, though inherently flawed and ruthless as creatures produced by natural selection, have infinite potential to do good. I don't believe that there is any divine plan for people- I believe that people are free to grow and learn as long as they live and can do anything they want. The sky is the limit.

Oh, and it is impossible to prove that God exists. Or to disprove. No real science claims to do either. I don't claim to know.
Still, snakes don't talk and seas don't part. People don't live inside of giant fish and people don't fly up into the sky. Donkey's don't talk and unicorns probably don't exist. When I see these the Bible will be more plausible. As of right now, I don't assume it to be any more than it is: A two thousand year old poorly translated collection of desert scribblings about folklore and legends.

The Bible is the first book ever to be written and translated. Parts of the Bible were written well over 2 thousand years ago. Science proves that. You may not believe it, but it does. As to your comment that people can do whatever they want. That is not true. You have to abide by the law or you will go to jail or prison. If you told that to a police officer or a judge if you went to court because you got arrested, they would prove you wrong. Man on their own will always fall. Without God there would be no world. I am not trying to argue with you or anything like that. I am just saying that what you are saying is that you only believe in mankind. Mankind was created in the image of God. The Bible is the inspired word of God. The beginning of Mark chapter one says that In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God. You may not believe in God or in Jesus Christ and may tell people you do not. But if you told that to the multiple of hundreds of people who actually saw Christ die and saw him after he had risen, they would tell you they saw Christ. Even satan believes in God and knows that the Bible is true and real. What about demons, witches, things like that? You do not believe that they exist? They do. No medicine or anything man can do to help people like that (WTF!?). Science will prove that also. Your argument sounds like you are just afraid of giving your life to serve someone who loves you and love them back. What about your parents? How is your relationship with them? Is it good? I have a feeling that you argue with them just as much as you argue about religion. I am guessing that you have a problem with submitting to authority! You may say you do not, but what you have said just proves it. Your thing is that you can not serve a God who you can not see or does not speak to you. The thing is that you are not open to hear him speaking to you! If you want to know if God is real and the Bible is real, just ask him. I bet you have not prayed a day in your life. I dare you to pray tonight and ask him if he is real to show you!!!! He will. If you talk to God, he will talk to you. It is as simple as that. You may not believe it, but it is true. Man, you are still young and have a lot to learn! I know some people who were just like you and God showed them he was real!!! Just ask God if he is real, but you have to mean it when you ask. If you ask God if he is real, you have to do it with all that is in you. Just ask. What could it hurt??????????????????????

I realize that the Bible is very old. That doesn't make it any more credible to me.
Also, it was not the first book ever written. Not even close. Take a history class.
People can do whatever they want. There are consequences to what people do- good and bad. Everyone is quite capable of committing crime, and everyone is bound to it's consequences. What I was talking about was the capability of everyone to be great and to live life to the fullest.
You are barely readable. You can say whatever you want about the Biblical myths about God, Creation, and Sin but they mean NOTHING to me. I don't believe in God. I don't believe in "Sin" in the narrow "naughty" sense of the word that the Christian church has used to make people live in fear.
I believe in evil. However, I believe it is man made. I do not believe in any devil, hell, afterlife, supernatural, none of it. I don't believe in demons, witches, and the like, just like you probably don't believe in leprechauns and unicorns.
You say I'm afraid, but that's just it: I'm not. I have no fear. You live in fear of your god and your "sins" and of eternal damnation. I am free of all of those fears. I live for myself and for those who I love and that's good enough to me. I do not want to serve any god. even if the Christian god was real I wouldn't want to serve a god who is going to damn billions of great people because they don't follow his ridiculous religion.
Lastly, I tried for years to get your god to make himself real to me. My search for god led to atheism. It's been the best, happiest change in my life by far. I am not going to talk to your god. I find talking to imaginary friends to be unhealthy for ones health and sanity. Besides, I don't want to go back to letting my life be ruled by silly superstition and living in fear of dying and hell and sin. Never.

Mike: You just proved your self to be an immature little kid who is afraid and does not know what you are talking about. You have no argument. Your argument is based on your own feelings and your own findings. What credentials do you have to prove that the Bible and God is not real?? Have you even studied up on your history. You tell me to study history, but I can promise you that I have taken more history classes than you have college classes total. About those classes I have taken. They were not at a Christian school. They were at a secular school. The instructors did not claim to be Christians, but showed that they believe there is a God and the Bible is real. The text books used showed down the line of history that Christ is real.
You have to use profane language to get a "point" across? Very smooth .and calling people names? What is up with that? You obviously have some problems. You keep on saying people can do what they want. That is not true and you know that! And you never proved me wrong about me saying that you argue with your parents , your relationship with your parents is not the best, and that you have a problem with authority. The reason why you did not is because it hit too close to home!!! And we both know that you never tried to get to know God. You just say that, because you think it will make people feel better because you tried.
You are afraid. You are very afraid that you will no longer be able to control yourself if you give your life to Christ. You like being a rebelious kid. You like to party and drink, and you may have tried drugs a couple of times or smoked. You are also afraid that your friends will make fun of you if you actually believe in God and the Bible and try to follow what it says. Do not tell me that you are not afraid of these things, because deep down you are! You do not want to be made fun of.
Only poor educated and uneducated people use the kind of language you do. Calling people names like that is just dumb. The reason why you do not believe in God and you are an atheist is because someone close to you wronged you and you will not forgive them. You refuse to forgive them. You use the "not believing in God" thing as a cover up and reason to not forgive them. Some advice. Do not argue the issue until you have studied up more on your argument and have some "good" things to say. Your argument is weak!! Don't go turning things around on me and shooting out those profane words. The reason why you are saying them is because you know I am right about you and that really is bugging you that someone who has never met you knows you pretty well!!
